Travel information

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Your ticket is for individual use only and cannot be transferred to another user. Please keep it intact and legible for the entire journey until you exit the vehicle, and be ready to show it when requested by our staff.  For digital tickets, make sure your mobile phone battery is fully charged.
  • Routes are classified as either urban or suburban according to their predominant service area, as defined by the Region of Tuscany.  What does this mean? This means some routes may have mixed pricing, requiring different tickets or passes depending on the section travelled.  For urban routes that extend beyond 5 km from the centre in major urban areas, 10 km in city capitals, or 15 km in the Metropolitan Area of Florence, a suburban fare will be applied. All bus lines - colours
  • before you set off, read the conditions of carriage, the full version of which you can find here

TICKETS

  • Your ticket must be activated upon first use as you board.
  • Tickets bought on board with contactless payment are automatically validated once the green 'OK' screen appears on the validator.
  • SMS tickets should be purchased at least 2 minutes before boarding, with activation occurring upon receipt of the confirmation message.
  • A suburban ticket is only valid for the direction specified at the time of purchase and does not cover the return journey.
  • Suburban tickets are printed on thermal paper. Care and validation instructions are provided on the back.

MULTI-RIDE TICKET BOOKS (CARNET)

  • An urban ticket book includes 10 individual trips, each with the same validity as a single ticket.  When inspected, you must also present the 'master' ticket located behind the first ticket (which acts as a receipt and must be kept for the duration of the ticket book).
  • A suburban ticket book includes 4 trips, with each ticket having the same validity as single tickets. These tickets can be used for the return trip unlike the described direction.
  • For groups: the ticket book may be used as long as the owner of the 'master' ticket is present throughout the trip and all members of the group travel together on the same vehicle

  • To travel, you just need to carry your health insurance card or tax ID, which must be shown if inspected.  For passes that include train segments (Urban Headquarter Florence, Pegaso, TFT+TPL), you must show a digital or paper purchase receipt.
  • If it is not possible to validate a single travel ticket (e.g., validator is out of order), you must manually cancel the ticket by writing the date and time of boarding with a pen and notify the driver immediately.
  • In addition to inspection staff, drivers can also ask passengers to show their travel ticket upon boarding.  If a passenger does not have a ticket and does not purchase one, they are requested to disembark the vehicle.
